It just occured to me that, although I’m sure Emma is just supposed to be Generic Companion, she looks and sounds a lot like Charley. Dressed like Dodo, or something, but still. And Rowan Atkinson is dressed like Eight. Was this on purpose? (Not the Eight costume, that was on purpose - Moffat and I disagree on some things, but that the Doctor should wear a frock coat is not one of them)(he should).
(This discussion not relevant to the fact that I have posted this picture of Richard E. Grant, but relevant to my interests, or in this case, my interest in Paul McGann audio continuity).

This post brought to you by my day job.
Surely if they make an English language movie about mid-century Swedish glass designer Vicke Lindstrand (quite a big name in Scandinavian glass, I assure you), he must be played by Richard E. Grant.
(The picture’s of Lindstrand).

Oh noes, monsters are coming!
(Despite appearances, this is actually what they are thinking).

REG and Derek Jacobi in the same scene speaking to each other I don’t think I can handle it. I don’t care if it lasts only a few seconds :´D

guuuuuuuuuh

what is this because I need it

This is the plan where they are all butlers, I don’t know. (Some part of me keeps saying ‘that is Miles Richardson in the background’, but a) I know it isn’t and b) if that was Brax his face would say ‘eye roll’ rather than ‘wtf? Is that… Richard E Grant? )

This is a good one (lick the mirror gorgeous). Maybe I should screencap his five seconds of Fatal Death instead of Shalka.
(As a side note, I genuinely believe we should get Hugh Grant to play the Doctor for realz at some point. He’d be brilliant).

Just waiting to record another podcast, so thought I’d post another picture of Richard E. Grant doing a Doctor face.
Not sure why they went with the tagline ‘You! Who!’ Is it supposed to imply he’s a sort of happy-go-lucky Doctor? Or that if REG can briefly be the Doctor, so could you.

The full Shalka article from that recent issue of ‘Doctor Who Insider’. I have more 2003 ‘Doctor Who magazine’ scans to stick up at some point, I just don’t remember where I left them…

If you actually want to read the text, I’ve uploaded the same scans to LJ:

While it’s mostly Shalka For Dummies, there’s some stuff about What Would Have Happened Next, proposed episodes, Cornell’s plan for the Master (seems really bizarre given his reasons for introducing the Master), etc, that I hadn’t read before. Thus - interesting!

Also, I don’t remember seeing the Master from that particular angle before.

I assume this is supposed to be a ‘dark’ Doctor picture, but really he just looks annoyed and yet resigned about being forgotten.
(Scanned from ‘Doctor Who Insider’).

The first of a six part commentary (to go with the six parts of the story) to the original webcast of ‘Scream of the Shalka’. Commentary recorded by aralias, x_los, vonquixote, and ashteth.

The other five parts can be found either on iTunes (by searching for radiosonic) or at our LJ community: http://radio-sonic.livejournal.com/2533.html
